An exciting soccer tournament will provide the youth of Diepsloot with the opportunity to realise their talents and win great prizes.

Up to 70 teams are due to compete in the second yearly Enoch Kegakilwe Charity Soccer Challenge in Johannesburg on June 10.

Named in honour of Enoch Kegakilwe - the late soccer team leader at the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA) - the tournament's sponsoring and organising partners are DBSA, the City of Johannesburg, Sowetan, the Aggrey Klaaste Nation Building Foundation and the Diepsloot Sport Forum.

Proceeds from the tournament will be used to support sports development projects and nurture future soccer, netball, basketball, volleyball, aerobics, handball, athletics and cricket stars in the township.

Boys' teams will compete for the overall winner's trophy and gold, silver and bronze medals for the top three sides along with prize money of R12000, R5000, R4000 and R3000.

An overall winners' trophy will be on offer in the girls' challenge, plus gold and silver medals as well as R4000 and R2000 for the top two winning sides.

The registration fee for boys' teams is R1650, and R1250 for girls. Interested teams should telephone the event organisers, Interactive Sport, on 086-612-1552 or on 011-722-7378.
