Forget this attention seeker

I have a problem. I had a relationship in my past and I loved him wholeheartedly. All of my ex-boyfriends have hurt me. It came to a point where I was single and sometimes felt I didn't need a man in my life.

I have a problem. I had a relationship in my past and I loved him wholeheartedly. All of my ex-boyfriends have hurt me. It came to a point where I was single and sometimes felt I didn't need a man in my life.

Then I met someone at work. Lots of women had a crush on him, except me. That was until he told my friend how he felt about me. After I thought about it, I fell for him too.

He is very shy and never approached me, but the love was growing within me daily.

One day I decided to send him an e-mail to let him know how I felt about him. He replied and said he loved me, but because he is in a relationship, we can't be an item. We agreed to stick to friendship, but then he stopped greeting me and it affected me.

Well, time passed and we spoke to each other.

Then I heard he was having a relationship with a woman in another department. It really made me feel bad.

My love for him is still burning and I no longer know what to believe. I have given up on relationships. What must I do in this situation? I do love him.

Sister, you should be thanking your guardian angels for a lucky escape from this man. He tells you he fancies you, but is involved with someone else, and the next day he is shacked up with one of your colleagues.

How come he could leave his relationship for her and not for you?

He might be shy and you might think that is appealing, but he also sounds like a snake who is used to attention from loads of women and uses his charms to get whatever he wants, and that certainly isn't you.

The fact is that he knew how you felt, so he could have approached you to tell you he was single when his relationship ended, but he didn't and instead he chose your colleague.

You have had a lucky escape. I am prepared to bet that you will witness lots of this kind of behaviour from this man over the years ahead, and you will be grateful for the fact that you escaped his charming clutches. Move on, sister, and look for more tasty fish in the sea. This one sounds like he likes to swim in many oceans to check out the talent.

Surely you believe you deserve better than this? Surely you want to be more than second choice?
