Afropop star Ntando Bangane became the first young artist to visit Thandi Klaasen in hospital.

The seasoned musician, known for her fluent and colourful command of tsotsi taal, has been lying in a bed at Natalspruit Hospital for the past four weeks.

Besides Abigail Kubheka and Dorothy Masuka, other artists, who seemingly do not know of her misfortune, have not visited.

A regular feature at memorial services and showbiz functions, Klaasen was visibly excited by Ntando's surprise visit. After teasing him, Klaasen demanded kisses from Ntando's entourage.

Regaining her jovial spirit, Klaasen said: "God bless you for taking time to visit a sick old lady. Artists must look after each other before we can expect others to.

"I have been lying here for over a month without any visitors and people in the ward have been asking me where the other artists are.

"As you can see there are people who care about me. Look at him properly, it's Ntando. You may not believe it because you always see him on television, but it's him."

She allegedly broke her leg when she fell at her home in East Rand.
