It is often said that when days are dark, friends are few. But then there are those friends who never fail others.

Late Soweto businesswoman and South West Gauteng College lecturer Dimakatso "Nnana" Monametsi fell in the latter category - always a pillar of strength to her friends and the community.

She was allegedly shot dead by her former lover at her Phase 3 Diepkloof Extension home.

She celebrated her 51st birthday on May 12. Friends who attended her party said she was in her jolliest mood. At the party her face shone with a special radiance - a thing her friends believe was a premonition of her death.

Her passin for education was unmistakable, hence she spent most of her life teaching.
