Stop taxi industry from riding all over us

I think it is about time that the Department of Transport enforces stringent measures to control the taxi industry.

I think it is about time that the Department of Transport enforces stringent measures to control the taxi industry.

It is heartbreaking and appalling that innocent people lose their lives because of irresponsible acts by thugs in the industry.

The problem has been going on for years and the government has done nothing to curb this atrocious behaviour. People lose their lives because of a feud between taxi owners.

It is also time for us passengers to unite. We should refuse to get into taxis that look faulty or are unroadworthy. And all passengers should get out of a specific taxi when the driver breaks a traffic law.

Maybe if we make use of the Metro buses and stop using taxis, they will realise how much we contribute to their business and that they should respect us.
