An Eastern Cape traditional surgeon was denied bail when he appeared in the Libode magistrates' court on Tuesday in connection with the death in 2001 of a would-be initiate under his care.

Philip Ntsabo, 63, of Nkanga village, has been charged with culpable homicide.

Port St Johns police this week also arrested a 48-year-old traditional surgeon for circumcising 11 underage boys at his school. - Sapa
