The final of the Selati Super Cup, which is the richest cup in amateur football in Mpumalanga, will be staged at Kamhlushwa stadium on Saturday.

Mangweni Manchester and Schoemansdal Junior Aces will compete for the R30000 first prize, a trip to the Vodacom Challenge Cup final and a weekend trip away to Kruger National Park on the day. The R20000 consolation prize should help the losers deal with the loss .

The tournament's main sponsor is giant sugar manufacturer TSB, with other contributors including Trans African Concessions (Trac) and Vulombe.

The tournament is reported to have cost more than R210 000 to stage. It is played by teams under the Nkomazi region, near Malelane. This is the place where Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates defender Lucas Twala grew up. His family team, Saints, which features seven of his siblings, was knocked out in the preliminary rounds.

Kenneth Phiri, TSB communication officer, said: "Every thing is up to date. We have invited professional football scouts to watch the match and identify talents."

He said football-wise Mpumalanga can match other provinces. Entrance to the ground is free.
