Radio presenter Thuso Motaung, who remains in jail, yesterday denied threatening any witnesses.

Motaung was appearing before Judge Jeremy Jansen van Vuuren for a bail application in the commercial crimes court.

He was arrested in Bloemfontein last week for violating his R100000 bail conditions.

He is alleged to have contacted witness, Tsietsi Mohoaladi, in contravention of his bail conditions. He is also alleged to have threatened another witness, Lucky Qacha.

Motaung said Mohoaladi and Qacha were liars.

"I have never threatened nor mentioned any names. I do not know where Qacha stays. I only know him from work," he said.

Asked by prosecutor Pierre Tikkler whether he would lay charges of perjury against Mohoaladi and Qacha, Motaung replied: "I am a Christian and not that kind of person. I have nothing against them."

Motaung, his wife Mmamontha and business associate Joshua Ramme are accused of defrauding the SABC of R32million.
