Burundi national defender Valery Nahayo snapped up two prestigious awards during Jomo Cosmos' end-of-year function in Johannesburg yesterday.

The 22-year-old Nahayo scooped the Best Defender of the Year and Player of the Year awards, while Bongi Macala was named the Young Player of the Year.

The Players' Player of the Year award went to Dikgang "Terminator" Mabalane and Bamuza Sono walked away with the Midfielder of the Year award.

Veteran Helman Mkhalele and Gerald Mtshali were both named the Most Disciplined Players of the Year. Reneilwe Letsholonyane and the Witbank supporters branch won the Most Improved Player and Best Supporters Branch awards.

Cosmos manager Andrew Rabutla presented the Johannesburg Society for the Blind with a cheque for R15000.
