South African based Moemedi "Jomo" Moatlhaping and Phenyo Mongala have been included in the Botswana Under-23 national soccer side.

Moatlhaping is doing duty for Silver Stars and Mongala plays for Mvela Golden League outfit University of Pretoria.

Botswana are in camp honing themselves for their opening 2008 Beijing Olympics group stages campaign against Morocco in Rabat on Saturday.

Guided by Major David Bright, the enterprising Botswana are in Group C with Morocco, Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea.

"We have been in camp for some time now, we played a friendly against the Lesotho senior national team last Wednesday where we won 2-1," said Bright.

"Our initial plans were to get a physical side like Zambia but they did not get back to us, we ended playing against Lesotho who play more or less the same style as us.

"Everything is going well in terms of our final preparations and we are all looking forward to the game in Rabat.

"It is important that we do well because the group stages follow a points system. At the worst, we should strive for a draw in Rabat," said Bright, one of Botswana's most successful national coaches.

Bright is delighted with the return to the team of goalkeeper Noah Maposa, defenders Moreetsi Mosimanyane, Tumisang Sekanonyane and Thebe Maiketso.

"All four youngsters, who were not available when we played against South Africa in the All Africa Games, have fully recovered from injuries," he said.

The team leaves for Rabat by Johannesburg on Wednesday night.
