Pastor practises '5 steps to God'

Dan Fuphe

The strength of Christian fellowship was taken to an unprecedented level at the weekend.

It happened when people from all walks of life joined members of the Good News of Hope Ministries to celebrate the end of its 40 Days of Purpose campaign at Chief Albert Luthuli Park in Clovedene, Benoni, yesterday.

For Joe Seoloane, a pastor, and his wife, Mahlako, the event also served as a barometer to gauge the local community's response to and acceptance of their ministry.

It was also a chance for them to reflect on the goodness of God for giving them a vision to go into the ministry.

Seoloane told the congregation that "as iron sharpens iron, man is sharpened by another man".

Seoloane said the aim of the day's events was to celebrate all that God had done among them in the 40 days since Good Friday.

This, he said, included a time to rejoice when people gave testimony about the presence of God in their daily lives.

Seoloane said worship, fellowship, discipline, ministry and evangelism formed the basis of the 40 Days of Purpose campaign and the commemoration of the end of the campaign.
