Gospel superstars Kholeka Dubula and Sechaba Pali will visit KwaMakhutha, south of Durban, the scene of Saturday's bloody murder of four women.

The stars will pay their condolences to the families and friends of the women.

The killings have caused widespread outrage and concern about the plight of women in South Africa.

The women were raped and then shot dead. They were student constables Precious Gumbi, 30, Nosipho Shazi, 23, Ntombifuthi Nzimande, 22, and Ntombizonke Zulu, 22.

No arrests have been made.

The gospel singers said they wanted to share in the pain of those grieving and call for an end to the killing of women.

Kholeka said she wanted to give hope and comfort to the families.

"I share in their pain and frustration," she said.

Sechaba said: "I want to encourage men to take care of women."

Young South African Women in Dialogue yesterday condemned the slaying and called on the police to act swiftly.

"We are disturbed by the growing number of acts of violence, assault and killings of innocent women and children in this province," said spokesman Fikile Masiko.
