The man who rewrote the history books by opening the first black-owned BMW dealership has done it again.

The owner of BMW Auto City, Litha Nkombisa, has formed a partnership with Volkswagen South Africa.

Nkombisa is the co-owner of VW Joburg City, which is situated in Braamfontein. His partner is Ciko Thomas.

The two acquired the business late last year and have already sold 204 new vehicles and 68 Mastercars, used vehicles, in the first quarter of this year.

VWSA last week officially welcomed the new owners of Volkswagen Joburg City to its national dealer network.

VWSA sales and marketing director Mike Glendinning said his company believed in the leadership and business skills of Nkombisa and Thomas.

The dealership employs more than 65 people.
