Two members of the notorious RAF4 gang appeared in the Mmabatho high court yesterday charged with murder.

The gang allegedly terrorised the small community of Majemantsho, outside Mafikeng in North West, for a lengthy period.

Amos Nkosi, 22, pleaded not guilty and Simon Molefe, 31, pleaded guilty to murdering Ezekiel Tsiboga, 20, in July 2005 with a pick handle.

Molefe said that he did not mean to kill Tsiboga.

According to Kgotso Tsiboga, Ezekiel's brother, the incident happened in broad daylight outside a butchery in Majemantsho.

Kgotso said no one tried to help his brother because they were too afraid of the attackers.

"I was only told about the attack when I got back home from work," said Kgotso.

He told the court that the families of the accused had said if the Tsiboga family didn't lay charges against Molefe and Nkosi they would pay for Ezekiel' s burial.

Kgotso said he refused their offer.

The presiding judge ruled that the trial be separated.

Nkosi will appear on August 13 and Molefe on August 1.

Molefe is out on bail of R1000, but Nkosi's bail was revoked because he is awaiting trial in connection with several charges of robbery.
