The SA Transport and Allied Workers' Union, the Transport and Allied Workers' Union and the Transport and Omnibus Workers' Union signed an agreement with employers on Tuesday, said CCMA spokesman Lusanda Myoli.
The unions agreed to the 9percent proposal made by the CCMA. The settlement comes after meetings between the unions and employers deadlocked, after employers offered an 8percent increase and workers demanded 10percent.
The matter came to the CCMA on March 20. It made an offer to help in terms of section 150 of the Labour Relations Act.
The strike did not commence because employers applied to the labour court to prevent drivers from striking. - Sapa
