On Monday Regina Chiluba appeared before a magistrate in her home town of Ndola, about 400km north of Lusaka, prosecutor Lucky Mulongwe said.
She denied the charges.
"The case has been adjourned to July for trial," Mulongwe said.
Chiluba was arrested last year by a graft-busting police unit for receiving property and funds stolen by her husband from state coffers when he ruled Zambia between 1991 and 2001.
The former president is alleged to have given her the stolen money and property when she was his mistress during his tenure as head of state.
He divorced his wife of 33 years, Vera Tembo, now a deputy minister, and married Regina shortly after retiring from politics.
Chiluba was recently found guilty of conspiring to rob the country of about R317million in state funds together. Eighteen of his cohorts, including former intelligence chief Xavier Chungu, who is on the run, were also found guilty. - Sapa-AFP
