Silver Stars meant business from start to finish when they walloped Bidvest Wits 3-0 in a fast and entertaining Castle Premiership game at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Stars shone bright in the first half and built up a 3-0 lead to unsettle the visitors. In-form Stars striker Hareiapha Marumo was first to score when he beat Wits goalkeeper Moeneeb Joseph with a powerful shot in the 17th minute.

Stars forced Wits to play with their backs to the wall and the pressure told on defender Ashraf Hendriks, who scored an own goal in the 20th minute. Hendriks tried to clear a shot from Dingane Masanabo and the ball rolled straight into the empty net.

Masanabo, who was enjoying his game, was in the picture again when he latched onto a good pass in the dying minutes of the half to score the home team's third and last goal.

The second half was a repeat of the first with Stars dictating terms.
