A strike at Buffelsfontein is losing the gold mine R1,8million a day, owner Simmer & Jack said. Simmer & Jack accused the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) of "selective representation of the offer made by the company". NUM requested a minimum salary of R2700 for level five employees.
