About 400 people attended the KwaZulu-Natal Successful Alumni Ebandla reunion dinner at Kensington's Millennium Gloucester Hotel in London on Friday evening.

The dinner was hosted by Premier S'bu Ndebele, who was accompanied by members of the provincial government.

The event is part of a campaign to reach out to alumni, especially the most successful, who are now scattered throughout the world. It was held in true South African style, with everything from décor to entertainment being proudly South African.

In his address, Ndebele said KwaZulu-Natal was a province on the move.

"Our general grandeur makes KwaZulu-Natal locally and internationally one of the most interesting places to visit, and a tourist's paradise.

"The beaches, mountains and game reserves are some of our prize attractions."

He said the rich cultural heritage of KwaZulu-Natal was being systematically developed as a tourist attraction.

"We are going to the top in economics, culture, sport, science and technology," said Ndebele.
