It is 21 days before Bafana Bafana travel to neighbouring Swaziland for a Cosafa Cup clash against Malawi but there are still no clear hints on the composition of the travelling team.

However, national team co-assistant Khabo Zondo made it clear the game "will not be taken for granted".

Like most, Zondo believes this is an opportunity for young, local-based players to gain some international experience.

"We have not discussed anything with Carlos [Alberto Parreira, Bafana Bafana coach] so far but in my opinion it is likely to be the same squad we used in the friendly against Swaziland but obviously with a few additions, especially for those players that we felt did not do very well," Zondo explained.

"We will have to see which players will be available as it would not be a Fifa official date," Zondo said.

That means Mamelodi Sundowns' players will automatically miss out, including those from either Santos or Ajax Cape Town as the game coincides with the Absa Cup final.

Parreira was expected back in the country after a successful knee operation in his native Brazil.

The Flames, under Englishman Stephen Constantine who replaced German Burkhard Ziese, will be a definite closed book for Bafana Bafana.

Malawi have not played any competitive games under the 44-year-old former India and Nepal national coach and will be looking for a good take-off under his tutelage.

Parreira has demanded a few more friendlies around December as part of the team's preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations in Ghana next year.
