Two wheelchair-bound tennis players from the University of Venda leave for the Netherlands today to attend a development training camp.

Sydwell Mathonsi and Kgothatso Montjane have been selected by the International Tennis Federation and Wheelchair Tennis South Africa to represent the country.

Montjane is ranked number one and Sydwell second in South Africa. The camp will be run by Aad Zwaan, a renowned wheelchair tennis coach and national coach for the Netherlands team.

The training camp has been sponsored by the Airports Company South Africa (Acsa).

Acsa's corporate affairs group executive Themba Khumalo said: "Wheelchair tennis is a fast- growing disabled sport and we want every disabled South African to be given the opportunity to participate in it." - Chester Makana
