The past weekend was one of four big derbies on the continent, while it also saw Hearts of Oak winning the Ghanaian One Touch Premier League for the umpteenth time.

While the local derby, Orlando Pirates versus Kaizer Chiefs, saw thousands of their supporters breathing a sigh of relief at the 1-all draw, the outcome did not do much for their league positions.

The other derbies were played in Egypt, Morocco and Algeria. Highlights of these always eagerly awaited encounters will be on the African Soccer Television show on SABC1 Sport's Laduma show on Sunday at 5.30pm.

In Algeria, MC Alger accounted for Paradou AC 1-0, while another local league match saw JSM Bejaia win 2-0 at MC Oran. In Morocco, local giants Wydad Casablanca were held to a 0-0 draw by OCK Olympique de Khouribga in a game of missed chances while IRT Itihad de Tanger fell 2-0 at FAR Rabat.

In Egypt, the pulsating derby between Zamalek and Ismaily ended 2-all.

Ghanain super team Hearts of Oak were again too good for the rest of the clubs in the One Touch Premier League, clinching the title at the weekend after a 1-0 win at Arsenal.

The show will feature results and log standings from the leagues on show.
