On Saturday I attended a funeral in Soshanguve to pay my respects to a friend who had died the previous week.

During the proceedings at the cemetery I was appalled at the behaviour of a group of "mourners" at a nearby grave whose conduct I found to be disrepectful, to say the least.

This group, clad in Sundowns regalia, stormed the cemetery blowing vuvuzelas and chanting vulgar songs, totally ignoring and in the process disrupting proceedings at nearby graves.

I presume these were Sundowns faithfuls as they had a Sundowns Makarapa on both the coffin and the hearse.

While it is their right to express their love for their team through dress, I and other mourners found it atrocious that they chose to disregard other mourners' feelings in expressing theirs.

I do not in any way imply that all The Brazilians behave in that manner, but it is such despicable behaviour that tarnishes the image of institutions such as Sundown.

I implore the powers that be at Chloorkop to distance themselves from such behaviour and condemn it with the contempt it deserves.
