Tendulkar injury scare for India

CALCUTTA - India's top batsman Sachin Tendulkar injured his right ankle yesterday during practice ahead of his team's cricket tour of Bangladesh, Press Trust of India reported.

Tendulkar twisted his ankle while negotiating a bouncer from Sreesanth on the first day of a team conditioning camp. The extent of the injury was not immediately known.

He was seen by team physiotherapist John Gloster on the field, and limped to the dressing room after some initial treatment.

The Indian team leaves for Bangladesh on May 7 to play three limited-overs internationals, followed by two Tests. - Sapa-AP
