Limpopo's Manenzhe Liverpool strengthened their lead in the Inland Stream after pipping Free State Liverpool BTX 1-0 in a SAB Regional League national playoff game at Galeshewe Stadium in Kimberley yesterday.

The solitary goal was scored by striker Raymond Thenga in the first minute of the match following a neat pass from teammate Ndodeni Maladzi. It was the fastest goal scored since the start of the playoffs on Monday.

The unbeaten Liverpool lead the pack with seven points from seven games and are left with one game to wrap up the group.

Breathing heavily down their necks are Highlands Park from Gauteng with four points from two games. They were not in action yesterday.

The winners in the Inland and Coastal streams will meet in the final on Saturday, while the streams' runners-up compete in the losers' final earlier on the same day.

The overall winners will pocket R12 000, the runners-up R8000 and the third- and fourth-placed teams collect R5 000 and R3 000.

Selokela Masetle, tournament director, said everything has been going very well and there have been no complaints so far.

He was also impressed by four top referees, who also officiate in the PSL, for their professionalism the whole week.

They are referee Daniel Volgraaf and assistant refs Stephen Mashotle, Maxwell Machitse and Edward Madidilane.

Today's fixtures: Liverpool BTX v North West Stars (10am); Highlands Park v Mighty Mega Force (noon); Mbekweni Cosmos v Ulundi Stars.
