Cops foil robbery
North West police yesterday intercepted and arrested nine heavily armed men believed to have been on the way to commit a robbery.
Police pounced on the men between Magaliesburg and Rustenburg following a tip-off.
Police spokesman Superintendent Lungile Dlamini said there had been a spate of robberies on black businessmen in and around Rustenburg in recent weeks.
Dlamini said police found an AK-47 rifle, a machinegun, five pistols and a revolver in the vehicles used by the men.
