A Mpumalanga father is furious after a high school teacher reportedly admitted to having sex with his 16-year-old daughter but denied making her pregnant.
The teacher told the girl's father that he always used a condom during sex with his pupil.
The father, whose identity cannot revealed to protect the girl who is minor, said yesterday that he would not let the matter rest.
He said the teacher from the Frank Maginyana High School in Ludlow village, near Thulamahashe, had admitted to having an affair with the girl and sex several times.
"My daughter is seven months pregnant," the father said.
"She told us she was carrying this teacher's child.
"We approached him as a family but are disappointed because he says he could not have made her pregnant because they always used condoms.
"I am also disappointed that the teacher destroyed my daughter's future."
"Forget about the condom issue, how on earth does a teacher have sex with a pupil, and an under-aged one at that?" he asked.
He said he had taken up the matter with the school governing body and principal.
The principal confirmed that the girl's father had approached him but said he was still investigating the matter and will only take further steps afterwards.
