Athletics South Africa (ASA) has selected strong athletes who have the ability to represent the country with pride at the IAAF World Youth Championships in Ostrava, Czech Republic, in July.

The squad will use the Southern Region Youth Championships in Mozambique in early July to prepare for the tough world event in Ostrava.

ASA announced the 49-member provisional team last week.

The team has been put together after the incredible performances displayed at the South African Junior and Youth Championships in Pretoria on April 13 and 14.

The provisional squads:
