Such beliefs are unfounded and should be condemned to prevent the unnecessary death of people who need organ donation.
What is more embarrassing is our apparent shallow understanding of our own cultural ideologies.
Blacks should know that amadlozi is a spirit within a person.
This spirit lives within and can only be separated from the body by death.
Ancestors identify the soul not the body. So the belief that the ancestors will not be able to identify a body if a person donated his or her body parts reveals a shallow understanding of what we claim to be our culture.
Shamefully, our fellow Christians do not understand their own religion.
To believe that people with missing or donated organs will not be resurrected to face the judgment day indicates a fundamental ignorance about the Bible.
The Bible does not say that they will not be resurrected.
