Tenacious Bispo poised to test Sanders

Golden Gloves has announced Daniel Dos Santos Bispo the final opponent for Corrie Sanders' comeback fight at Emperors Palace on May 12.

The 31-year-old Brazilian is a former Czech International cruiserweight champion. He fights from the orthodox stance. Bispo has 13 KOs from 19 wins and three losses.

He is the third opponent to be linked with Sanders. Golden Gloves PRO Terry Pettifer said they had a tough time securing Bispo, who fights mainly as a cruiserweight.

"But he's been in there with some of the heavier fellows and has only suffered one stoppage defeat when the world rated Fres Oquendo stopped him on a ninth round TKO in 2006," said Pettifer.

But the left-handed Sanders, 41, who has 31 KOs from 41 wins and three losses, should overwhelm Bispo with power and experience.

Their 10-rounder forms part of the "Clash of Warriors" programme which features Silence Mabuza against Mbwana Matumla for the IBO bantamweight belt.

Isaac Hlatswayo and Joseph Makaringe will fight for the vacant IBO welterweight belt and Khotso Motau will face Kabelo Ndlovu in another undercard bout.
