A blitz by South African Revenue Service (SARS) and police yesterday to get small businesses to register for tax under an amnesty that expires at the end of next month netted over 1000 new ap-plicants. Officials visited 4160 small businesses in 30 towns and cities. By 3pm yesterday, 1106 new applications for amnesty were received.
