l Be ready to get involved in the music and arts scene in their area and community;

l Have an interest in business and negotiating;

l Be good at managing time and people;

l Develop a "silver tongue" because music managers will find themselves often persuading others to act in the best interest of the artist;

l Be willing to learn new languages because international travel and interactions with foreign musicians could be involved.
