Two women hawkers died and 30 others were injured when a bus in which they were travelling overturned at the weekend.
The incident happened on the Seshego-Polokwane road a few hours after the mass funeral of 11 people who died a week earlier when their taxi collided with a bakkie in Ga-Seleka in Lephalale.
The bus was carrying women hawkers from Ga-Matlala and Moletjie near Polokwane to Durban. The hawkers were reportedly going to buy clothing items to sell in the village.
It was still unclear what caused the bus to overturn.
Captain Mamphaswa Seabi yesterday said one woman died at the scene while the other died on the way to hospital.
Thirty other women and the driver were taken to hospital.
Limpopo roads and transport MEC Justice Piitso said: "Most of the recent accidents in Limpopo have been a result of road rage.
"Speeding and unroadworthy vehicles are the main challenges in these two unfortunate incidents," Piitso said.
Limpopo premier Sello Moloto, who attended the funerals, appealed to motorists to behave responsibly and avoid further loss of life.
