Maritzburg United's coach Mlungisi "Professor" Ngubane again complained of missed chances when his side played to a 1-all draw against Lamontville Golden Arrows in a KwaZulu-Natal derby at Harry Gwala Stadium on Saturday.
The result mean that United are still languishing at the bottom of the log and look likely to be relegated at the end of the season. The main culprit was Kabamba Musasa who missed a number of good scoring opportunities.
The misses angered supporters as much as they angered Ngubane, who did not mince his words after the match that there's a need for a quality striker.
"This is one game we should have won, but it was the same old problem of missing chances. We need a striker who can convert chances," said Ngubane.
The match did not live up to expectations, though it was not boring either. United looked hungrier than the visitors but failed to make something out of it.
Kabamba Musasa missed a golden opportunity on 17 minutes when his shot was blocked by Arrows' keeper, Brendon Wardle, who quickly came out of his line.
The only chance for Arrows fell to Papi Zothwane, whose shot was spilled for a corner by Aime Kitenge on the stroke of halftime.
United's pressure finally paid off when Luntu Mazana out jumped Arrows defence and nodded home from Neil Winstanley's cornerkick on 68 minutes. Norman Smith equalised for Arrows on 74 minutes with a freekick.
