The Soccer World Cup helped to push up beer consumption in Germany last year, the Federal Statistics Office said on Friday. Germans drank 111,6litres of beer a person last year, or an average of 0,3litres a person a day, the statistics office said. Overall, Germans consumed a total of 92million hectolitres of beer - 0,5million more than in 2005. It was the first yearly increase since 1999, the office said.
