At best, burning down trains because they are late is an inexcusable act of hooliganism - whatever reasons given to justify the monstrosity.

At best, burning down trains because they are late is an inexcusable act of hooliganism - whatever reasons given to justify the monstrosity.

Just when we thought the uncivil acts of burning trains had become a thing of the past, came another attack on a train in Pretoria yesterday. This time a group of Pretoria commuters set two train carriages alight and attacked technicians called to attend to a fault on the railway line.

This because commuters had become impatient after waiting for some time for the problem to be fixed.

Complaints about late trains are justified, and have existed as long as the railway system itself, but committing criminal acts such as burning train coaches will not resolve the problem.
