All goods and clothing will from now on have labels indicating their country of origin, the Department of Trade and Industry has said.

All goods and clothing will from now on have labels indicating their country of origin, the Department of Trade and Industry has said.

Minister Mandisi Mpahlwa signed the regulations into force following misleading labels passing off imported goods as having been made in South Africa.

The regulations came into effect on Saturday.

The labels must be clearly written in English and should indicate any imported material used in goods made in SA. - Sapa
