Nxesi 'chased away'

Napwa boss Nkululeko Nxesi was yesterday chased away from work by disgruntled staff members who accused him of mismanaging the funds of the organisation.

Napwa boss Nkululeko Nxesi was yesterday chased away from work by disgruntled staff members who accused him of mismanaging the funds of the organisation.

National Association of People Living With HIV and Aids spokesman Joe Manciya said when Nxesi reported for work yesterday colleagues demanded his resignation.

Nxesi said the action was organised by two disgruntled employees who had been suspended for circulating hoax e-mails alleging he had resigned last month.

Nxesi was recently accused of fraud and unfair labour practices by a staffer, but was cleared of financial mismanagement by the Napwa board.

Manciya said the board's ruling could not be trusted because it was headed by Nxesi. "We don't want him because he is no longer serving the interests of people living with HIV-Aids. He is using Napwa's funds for his own initiatives."

Nxesi said: "I won't resign because I am not guilty." - Sapa
