Jazz lovers should brace themselves for real entertainment on April 28 when Jazz by the River takes place at Dickinson Park in Lekoa at the Vaal.
In its 12th year, the event features local artists such as Mzwakhe Mbuli, Jonas Gwangwa, Bongo Maffin and Kunle Ayo, pictured, Shwi noMtekhala, Lesego and Nombulelo Maqethuka.
Jazz by the River always gives deserved recognition to local talent by affording local bands a chance to shine on stage. The event that attracts several thousand music lovers is expected to do the same this year.
The lineup comprises young and old artists.
Mbuli has for decades fought for human rights in poetry and song.
He shares the stage with Gwangwa, who boasts much experience in the music industry.
Bongo Maffin has been billed to add an Afro-pop sound and to showcase the skill that won them many awards. The energetic group is expected to keep the crowd dancing.
Another artist boosting the lineup is Lesego. Fresh from winning an award at the recentSamas, the sensational singer is expected to wow music lovers.
Maskandi duo Shwi noMtekhala, who set a record selling more than 500000 copies and whose new album Angimazi Ubaba is selling like hot fat cakes, are a highlight.
