Gang of four in blue overalls
Four Pakistani nationals who own a supermarket in Mpumalanga became the latest victims of crime when four armed robbers attacked them.
Police said the incident happened at Themba Township in Balfour on Tuesday at about 8pm.
"The businessmen were asleep in a house next to their supermarket when four men woke them up and threatened them with firearms," said Mpumalanga eastern highveld police spokesman Superintendent Abie Khoabane yesterday.
The robbers tied them up with cables and took four cellphones and R5000 cash before they fled the scene on foot.
The victims waited for their attackers to leave before shouting for help and it was only then that neighbours came to their assistance.
Nobody was harmed in the incident.
The victims described the robbers, who are still at large, as being in their early 20s.
"We have been told that the robbers were all wearing blue overalls as a kind of uniform and ask members of the community to help us track them down," Khoabane said.
"Robbers who wear uniforms usually act in the same way.
"They will probably rob again in the same manner and wearing the same uniforms," he said.
