Extreme Contact Karate International (ECKI) is preparing for its gashuku, a yearly training camp, that will be held at its traditional venue at Pax Boys College in GaMashashane in June.

Ezrom "Shotgun" Mogano, ECKI's president, said they had already visited various dojos around Limpopo to prepare their instructors for the gashuku that will be held from June 13 to July 22.

"We are currently teaching our instructors on issues such as administering a dojo, training karateka, registration and the rules of the sport," Mogano said. "The instructors will undergo theory and practical sessions during the training session and those who will be successful will be graded.

"We have already visited dojos from Botlokwa and GaMashashane and we are waiting responses from Thohoyandou and Giyani. We are expecting karateka from provinces such as KwaZulu-Natal, Eastern Cape and Gauteng. Our counterparts from Zimbabwe have once again agreed to attend the event .
