Limpopo Province Netball Association (LPNA) has thrown its weight behind the newly appointed senior provincial head coach Anna Ledwaba.
Monica Setumu, LPNA's president, said the veteran coach has the pedigree to turn the fortunes of the Crocodiles around in the Netball South Africa's National League.
The Crocodiles have been treading water in the national league's B division and Ledwaba and her newly-assembled team will have to make a supreme effort to save the Crocodiles from further embarrassment in the league.
The 49-year-old Mahwelereng-based Ledwaba replaced Victor Seakamela who was relieved of his duties to concentrate on umpiring.
"Anna has a wealth of experience and we are all convinced that she is the right person to coach our squad this year," Setumu said.
"Our players need to believe in themselves and we also have confidence in them that they will deliver the goods this year. What I also like about our new team is that the majority of the players are young. I also want to make an impassionate plea to the businesspeople from Limpopo to come forward and invest in the sport."
Ledwaba said she was encouraged by the confidence shown by LPNA in her.
"I will try my level best, together with the players of course, to fare well in the national league," said Ledwaba, whose side open their campaign against Northern Cape's Flamingos in Kimberley on April 20.
Other teams in the same division with the Crocodiles are Mpumalanga's Ingwes and Mermaids of KwaZulu-Natal.
Ledwaba is the former Limpopo provincial Under-17, U-19, U-21, senior and veteran teams' head coach. Many netball lovers are convinced she is exactly what the doctor has ordered.
