The successful musical show Umoja - Spirit of Togetherness will be launching in its new home, the Victory Theatre in Houghton in Johannesburg, on May 31.

Led by Todd Twala and Thembi Nyande- ni, the thrilling show will perform as part of the launch.

The complex boasts a 470-seater theatre, a classy jazz bar and a traditional African restaurant.

Umoja - Spirit of Togetherness, the moving tale of indigenous music from the earliest rhythms through to kwaito, has wowed the world.

The show has travelled to 26 countries. The group sings traditional love songs, lullabies and songs of rural life.

The music reflects the pain of migrant labourers and their families.

Umoja - Spirit of Togetherness takes you down memory lane with dancers in the shebeens and the cultural melting pot that was once Sophiatown will bring a smile and a tear to old and young.

Hearts will be saddened by cold stories of forced removals, but feet will stomp with the explosive gumboot dancing.

There are also great sounds of vibrant jazz that broke free from the constraints of those difficult times.

The gospel music running through the sad tales will take the audience back to the huge helpings of faith and courage. This was when black South Africans lived through the country's stormiest history.

This loud, colourful, and jubilant

celebration of life and the various

cultures of the country's people is both delightful and uplifting.
