Sowetan Women's Club members have a chance to capitalise on opportunities in the telecommunications industry.

The third Sowetan Women's Club event of the year takes place at the CSIR Convention Centre in Pretoria tomorrow.

With the theme Business Opportunities in the Telecommunications Industry, the main speaker is Judi Nwokedi, manager of Motorola in southern Africa.

She will set out entrepreneurial opportunities for women in the telecommunications industry.

Prior to joining Motorola South Africa, Nwokedi was managing director of public broadcasting at the SABC. She also played a pivotal role in conceptualising and implementing LoveLife, South Africa's largest Aids-awareness campaign.

Thandi Mosupye, marketing and promotions. manager of the event's co-sponsor, Old Mutual, will also address the club.

Muvhango star Florence Masebe will chair the evening.

The evening starts at 6.30pm for 7pm and includes a buffet dinner, a fashion show featuring new South African designers and gifts. A cash bar will operate.
