The Zimbabwean crisis is a true test of African leadership; it is a test of the SADC and the African Union.

The Zimbabwean crisis is a true test of African leadership; it is a test of the SADC and the African Union.

These organisations exist with the objective of preventing what is currently going on in Zimbabwe.

Condemning Robert Mugabe will not solve the economic and political tailspin in Zimbabwe. Only collective intellectual engagement by African leaders searching for a solution can help. But the engagement should result in immediate first aid attending to the Zimbabwean crisis.

For now, western neo-colonialists are watching with the hope that Zimbabwe sinks even deeper into trouble to make their intervention inevitable.

As for people chastising Mugabe's regime for violating human rights, they must know that the fragile situation in that country demands strict rule and control so people do not get out of order - and so democracy is impossible.

As for westerners, they must keep quiet and deal with the human rights violations of the poor Iraqis.

We know very well that the Zimbabwean crisis is positively linked to colonisation, and those who ignore history and blindly embrace mental slavery will continue with their poor judgment.
