Sidali clueless about Zim

I read with utter disgust a letter written by Viwe Sidali titled "Mugabe key to arbitration".

I read with utter disgust a letter written by Viwe Sidali titled "Mugabe key to arbitration".

As you might have expected, the letter cannot go unchallenged.

Firstly, it is estimated that there are more than 3million Zimbabweans living in South Africa alone.

During the last elections in Zimbabwe, how many of these Zimbabweans in South Africa were allowed to vote through their embassies in countries such as Botswana?

The answer is none.

And he still claims that the people of Zimbabwe voted for Robert Mugabe to stay in power.

One example of election fraud was in Uzumba Marambapfungwe where the number of people who voted Zanu-PF far exceeded those on the voters roll.

Those elections were endorsed as free and fair by most election monitors and observers, including one from South Africa.

The claim that Mugabe is the key to Zimbabwe's future does not wash. Presently, there are serious fuel and foreign currency shortages in Zimbabwe. We could go on and on.

I doubt Sidali has been to Zimbabwe in the last few years. If he had, he would not be painting such a rosy picture of the situation there.

Worried ZimboManzini, Swaziland
