Kwaito star Arthur Mafokate's lead dancer Thando "16V" Saliwa, right, was yesterday discharged from hospital after having being knocked over by a car at the weekend.

Saliwa, who joined Mafokate's famed 999 stable in 2005, was on her way to church together with members of her family when the incident occurred in Hillbrow, Johannesburg.

The self-proclaimed king of kwaito confirmed yesterday that his 18-year-old dancer had been admitted to the Rand Clinic in Hillbrow, but had been discharged early yesterday.

Speaking to Sowetan, Mafokate said: "I am just praying for Thando to get well soon and to come back to the group. The doctors told us she had suffered internal bleeding and I am hopeful that she will pull through because she is a fighter.

"It is just unfortunate that this had to happen when she was on her way to church and we need to pray for her speedy recovery so she can go back to school tomorrow," he said.

Thando's mother Julia Nongetheni Klaas said:

"I feel very bad about what happened to my daughter. She is resting now, but I am crossing my fingers that she recovers well in time to go back to school."
