The yearly Jazz by the River Festival is back and will again offer its electrifying music on Saturday, April 28 at Dickenson Park in Vereeniging.

The festival will celebrate its 12th year of existence with the grandmother of all parties featuring the likes of Mzwakhe Mbuli, Jonas Gwangwa, Bongo Maffin and Kunle Ayo.

Mbuli will enthrall the crowd with his repertoire from his latest offering, Thunder - Laduma Izulu.

Trombonist Gwangwa will take the crowd through a series of stunning songs that are sure to have festival goers on their feet.

Nigeria's Kunle will add to the African "flava". He will thrill the ladies with his nimble fingers on the strings - his shows have become known for the number of women he lures on to the dance floor.

With their riveting style, Bongo Maffin will remind people how to have a good time.

New-kid-on-the-block Lesego will impress with several tracks, particularly Hoekom and Afrika-Viva, from his newly dropped album.

Maskandi sensation Shwi noMtekhala, will transport revellers to the rolling mountains of Nongoma and his childhood.

Other acts in the festival line-up include Afro-pop sensation Nokukhanya, gospel singer Nombulelo Maqethuka, Maru and Maokeng, Kroonstad's best jazz ambassadors, and the Mac Jays, who will join Bow and Arrow and Mosolodi, in their mission to impress record executives in the hope of securing a recording deal.

Tickets cost R120 at Computicket and Shoprite Checkers.
