I think the supreme court of appeal in Bloemfontein got it wrong by ruling that Makhado should revert back to Louis Trichardt.

I think the supreme court of appeal in Bloemfontein got it wrong by ruling that Makhado should revert back to Louis Trichardt.

How can they do this to the Venda people. Vavenda are a minority group in this country and their rights must be protected.

It is clear that those with money will always subject others to their own selfishness.

We speak of promoting cultural diversity as part of our development. But what does this latest name reverting mean to the Venda people?

Rational people will shake their heads. I am not a racist and I am trying to be objective.

Limpopo might be perceived as an innocent province, but racism is still rife there.

The people who live in Venda are vehemently opposed to reverting back to the name Louis Trichardt.

Because they cannot challenge the decision made by the supreme court of appeal, they might take the "Khutsong route".

After 13 years of freedom we are back where we started. To prevent turmoil in Venda the state must review its decision on Makhado.

If we don't act now, we might wake up tomorrow and Giyani will be renamed Hendrik Verwoerd.
