Acting Health Minister Jeff Radebe has congratulated the Limpopo provincial Health Department for being one of the best in the country.

Radebe said this in a message delivered on his behalf by Seaparo Sekoati, provincial MEC for health and social development, at the opening of the R130million Lebowakgomo Hospital .

The new hospital boasts 252 beds and replaces the dilapidated Groothoek Hospital. It was built as part of the province's Hospital Revitalisation Programme.

Limpopo has spent R6,5billion on hospital revitalisation projects since the programme started.

"You have set yourselves high standards and are expected to keep improving on your outputs [in the project]," said Radebe.
